This month, Chris talks about Vocation Service month and interviews Past District Governor Ron Smith , now in District 7780 who lead a Vocational Training Team , 8 years ago, to Uganda, where the team helped teach midwives while the team was there and left many training videos that are now used over and over. Happy New Year! As we begin 2026, it is a time for reflection and a time to focus on what we want to accomplish in the coming months and years. Think about how you might want to make this year different, better and full of joy, happiness and success. Together, we can continue to make the world a better place through our efforts of introducing Rotary to someone new and increasing our impact through projects and programs of our Rotary Foundation in our own backyard and abroad. Together, let’s continue to Unite for Good.
In January we celebrate Vocational Service month. Vocational Service is one of our five avenues of service; it is one way that members and participants can serve in Rotary. It involves using our professional skills and expertise to serve the community, promote ethical practices, and inspire others. Consider ways that you and your fellow club members can engage in vocational service like joining a Rotary Action Group, introducing a vocational service award, organizing a Four-Way Test contest in your local middle school and encouraging members to volunteer.
