Rotex is a society of past Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) alumni that engages with current Inbound and Outbound Rotary Exchange Students to better their exchange experience overall. Rotex acts as a middleman between Rotary Clubs and exchange students through supporting Rotarians throughout the RYE program via mentoring students on proper etiquette while on exchange, organizing trips and events for Outbound, Inbound, and Rebound Exchange Students, and ultimately being the voice for RYE exchange students in many cities, districts, and countries in the Rotary world.

Rotex D7070 (Rotex in District 7070) was founded in February 2020, jointly by the District 7070 Youth Exchange Committee and former outbound Youth Exchange students.  Rotex helped run the Outbound Rotary Exchange Student Orientation at Ganaraska Forest Centre in February 2020.

The goals of the Rotex group are to

a. Promote the Rotary Youth Exchange Program

b. Run events, train and nurture Rotary Youth Exchange Students to provide better and more varied experiences for the both the students and the sponsoring Rotary Clubs.

c. Provide advice and feedback to the District 7070 Rotary Youth Exchange Committee from a different point of view.......

This active District 7070 Rotex  group now consists 15 members strong led by Madelyn Lamer of the Rotary Club of Belleville and Noor Abdo from the Rotary Club of Oshawa and the group has a strong social media presence.

Rotex along with the District 7070 Youth Exchange Committee have been guest speakers at many Rotary Clubs since May 2020.  With successful presentations at the Rotary Clubs of Belleville, Trenton, Brighton, Etobicoke and illowdale; and we also have a presentation scheduled at the Rotary Club of Oshawa in August.

The goal of the Youth Exchange Committee is 30 by 30.   That is 30 exchange students in the District 7070 by 2030.   With the help of District 7070 Rotex, , we can get there.
