What started as a simple conversation between Rotarians has turned into an exciting opportunity for fellowship, friendship, and adventure. Helen Walsh, Karen O'Hara (Rotary Club of Northumberland Sunrise) and Cathy Cavanagh (Rotary Club of Wellington) are inviting Rotarians, spouses, family members, and friends from across District 7070 to join a group tour to Ireland from May 18–26, 2028…..
The idea behind the trip came naturally. Rotary is one of those rare places where people immediately feel comfortable together. We share common values, live by the Four-Way Test, and genuinely enjoy each other’s company. We began asking ourselves: why not create a travel experience built around those same connections?
This trip is designed not only for seasoned travelers, but also for people who may hesitate to travel alone. By travelling together as a group of like-minded Rotarians and friends, participants can experience Ireland comfortably, safely, and with built-in fellowship every step of the way.
After surveying our own club members about potential destinations, Ireland emerged overwhelmingly as the top choice and once we explored the itinerary, it was easy to understand why.
The 9-day guided tour includes visits to some of Ireland’s most iconic destinations, including:
- Dublin
- Kilkenny
- County Limerick
- Belfast
- The Titanic Belfast Museum
- The Rock of Cashel
- A traditional Irish farm visit
- And even an overnight stay in a real Irish castle
The tour is designed to be easy and stress-free, with transportation, hotels, guided tours, and logistics all handled through EF Go Ahead Tours, a company Helen has personally travelled with and highly recommends.

One of the most important things to know is that although the trip takes place in 2028, pricing is currently frozen through the end of June 2026.
