UPDATE:

The Rotary Foundation requires Clubs that want to apply for District or Global Grant funds to be qualified.  This requirement remains throughout the life of the project.  Thus, a Club that was qualified and applied for a Global Grant last year, must also be qualified this year, or until the final report has been approved by the Rotary Foundation.

In order for a Club to be qualified, at least two of its members must pass the three training quizzes, found under the Rotary Foundation tab on the District’s website, www.rotary7070.org.  In addition, the Club must submit a signed MOU to the District.  The MOU can also be found under the same tab on the website.
Please, note that question 6 in the quiz for Module 2 has been scrapped.  As of July 1, 2020, the Rotary Foundation only matches DDF (100%), not Club cash.  As this alternative is not among the suggested answers, it was decided to cancel that question.  Consequently, 6 correct answers to 8 questions are required to pass the Module 2 Quiz.
Regardless of plans to apply for grants, Rotarians are encouraged to go through the three modules, as it is a great way to learn more about the Rotary Foundation.  After all, November is Rotary Foundation month in the Rotary calendar.

The Rotary Foundation requires Clubs, that want to apply for District or Global Grants to projects, must be qualified.  A Rotary Club is qualified once it has done the following

- have at least two of its members successfully complete the training provided by the District, and

- have its President and President Elect submit to the District a signed copy of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

The qualification is valid for one year.  It makes the whole Club qualified and responsible, not just the two members that complete the qualification process. Once again, District 7070 is using on-line training for the qualification process.  Three modules (The Rotary Foundation, Global Grants and District Grants) can be found under the Rotary Foundation tab on the District's website, http://www.rotary7070.org.  Quizzes, each consisting of nine questions, are connected with the modules.  Seven of the nine questions must be correctly answered to pass each quiz.  Once a Rotarian has successfully completed all three Quizzes, s/he is qualified and will count towards the Club's Qualification.....

For the third year, District 7070 replaced the traditional Qualification Seminar that we used to conduct in February, with an on-line training program.  It consists of three modules, that Rotarians can take at their leisure.  For each module, there is a Quiz with nine questions.  To pass the test, a Rotarian must answer the three Quizzes, answering at least seven of the nine questions on each Quiz correctly.

The three modules are

  • Module 1 – The Rotary Foundation
  • Module 2 – Global Grants, and
  • Module 3 – District Grants

The modules can be found on the District’s website,

https://rotary7070.org/sitepage/rotary-foundation-grants-information

More than two members from a Club are welcome to take the training, including the Quizzes.  It is a great way to learn more about the Rotary Foundation and what it offers Rotarians to do good in the world.

A record of Qualified Clubs will be kept on the District's website.

Applications for Global Grant to projects are made on-line at http://www.rotary7070.org

Applications for District Grants to projects are made to the District on a special form, also available on the District's website.  Dead-line for applications for District Grants for the 2020-21 Rotary year is May 31, 2020.

Applications for Global Grants can be made throughout the Rotary year.  However, if you want DDF (District Designated Funds) to match Club cash contributions to a Global Grant project, please contact the District Grant Foundation Sub-Committee  before you start to discuss the amount of DDF that can be made available to your project.

Please, contact PDG Lars Henriksson, pdglars.henriksson@gmail.com if you have any questions or comments about issues related to the Grants process, be it qualification training, Global or District Grant applications  or DDF matching request for Global Grant projects.
