Our insurance policy renewed on July 1 on substantially a status quo basis.  We were hoping to obtain quotes for coverage enhancements but the insurer was not willing to make changes due to COVID-related uncertainty.

Certificates of insurance will be sent to all clubs when we receive them, likely in early September.  The current year policy documents will be posted on the District website as soon as we receive them.  They’ll be posted at  https://www.rotary7070.org/sitepage/club-insurance.   Last year’s policy documents are posted there for the timing being.

If you need a certificate of insurance for a third party, perhaps for a venue where you are holding an event, please contact our broker, Kelsey Schaafsma, at Norwich Insurance.  kelsey@norwichinsurance.com   (416) 863-2014.   These are routine requests and can usually be obtained without having to pay additional premiums.

Questions about COVID?  A COVID exclusion has been added to the Property section of our policy, clarifying the insurer’s intent not to cover revenue lost due to COVID.  However, there is no exclusion on the General Liability section of the policy.  Therefore, if a Club is accused of negligence in the spread of COVID or of another communicable disease, the General Liability policy would respond and defend the club and/or the District.
