Position Title:   Assistant Governor (AG)

Length of Appointment: 3-year commitment

Travel Required: A number of trips per year to attend District Team Training, PETS training, District Assembly, District Conference & Club Visits. Most meetings are held online or when allowed for in person meetings in Oshawa.

Job Description Role and Responsibilities

1. Attend District AG Training.

2. President Elect Training Seminar (PETS) date to be announced and present seminars, as assigned, to attendees.

3. Advise the District Governor on potential appointments to District committees, and in particular, identify someone to replace you by the end of year 2 in your term.

4. Meet with and assist incoming club presidents and secretaries in your assigned area prior to PETS to discuss Rotary Club Central Goals.

5. Visit each club (in person or by teleconference) in your assigned area a minimum of 4 times during the Rotary year.

6. Attend at least one Board meeting of each Rotary / Rotaract Club that you are responsible for.

7. Coordinate with the other AG’s of your region to hold and host a minimum of two Regional President’s Meeting.

8. Facilitate with the other AG’s of your region at least one cluster meeting (i.e. joint club meeting or District Governor official visit.)

9. Coordinate within the AG team to hold at least 5 meetings annually with two or more clubs from across the District to share best practises (i.e. membership development, fund raising.)

10. Provide coordination and follow up of the Rotary International Membership Leads.

11. Schedule your AG presentation to Clubs prior to the Governor visit to that club, if possible, but in any event at a convenient time for both yourself and your Clubs.

12. Contact Club Presidents quarterly to discuss the business of the clubs and resources available to them, along with goals, programs and objectives of the District and Rotary International, including assisting Clubs with Rotary Club Central and ClubRunner as required.

13. Collaborate with the Clubs in scheduling and planning the Governor’s Official Visit.

14. Attend, and actively promote, attendance at the District Conference and other District meetings.

15. Monitor and report to DLT (District Leadership Team) on each Club’s performance with respect to service projects, membership, public image and TRF.

16. Organize special meetings as requested by the District Governor.

17. Attend Assistant Governors meetings to meet with each other to share best practices.

 

Qualifications / Requirements

18. • Be an active member in good standing in a District 7070 Club for at least 3 years.

19. • Has served as Club President.

20. • Has served at the district level, or has served in a significant manner at the Club level.

21. • Has the enthusiasm to assist & support Clubs in attaining their goals.
