YOU ARE INVITED..... to wathc the recording of the  WORLD POLIO DAY 2023 LIVE FROM THE ROTARY GLOBAL CLASSROOM AT DURHAM COLLEGE as we celebrated World Polio Day with leaders from around the world, hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Oshawa and Oshawa-Parkwood, and Durham College. 

Rotarians from arounf District 7070 joined the line in-person audience and $ 10.00  of their entreance fee was donated to The Rotary Foundation's Polio Plus Fund and will be credited to their next Paul Harris Fellow - Exactly the amount of District Governor John Burns Goal for every Rotarians to doante at least $10 this Rotary year for ending polio.

WORLD POLIO DAY 2023 - LIVE from the Rotary Global Classroom at DURHAM COLLEGE in Oshawa, Ontario, CANADA

District 7070 broadcast the event live to Rotary Clubs around the world and to Universities and colleges worldwide.

Dr Bob Scott,(Past Rotary International Vice-President  and Immediate Past Chair of the Rotary International Polio Plus Committee ), along with Dr Tunji Funsho (Chair PolioPlus in Nigeria),and Barry Rassin (Chair of the Trustees of the Rotary Foundation)  were featured live on a guest panel (from all over the world)  to answer questions and they will update all of us about Rotary's efforts with our Global Polio Eradication initiative Partners to End Polio Now .

We also interviewed a polio survivor and heard how he manages his life, right here in southern Ontario, and we interviewed a Durham College student, in her second year,  from Pakistan, who told us her personal Polio story.

Together, our Rotary International leaders : Gordon McInally, Jennifer Jones, Stephanie Urchik, Mike McGovern and Valarie Wafer updated us about Rotary's very latest efforts with our Global Polio Eradication initiative Partners to End Polio Now. 

DON'T FORGET THE SECOND ANNUAL ROTARY DISTRICT 7070 "END PLIO NOW FLAG PHOTO CONTEST":

Congratulations to the Rotary Clubs of Bowmanville and Courtice for the award winning photo. The winning clubs received $50 each towards their donation to PolioPlus.  In addition, THE WINNING CLUBS received plaques on Oct 19 at Durham College LIVE on the broadcast.
