The Environment was the theme of the Tuesday Talk on December 8th, 2020 . As Rotary prepares for implementing a seventh Area of Focus, Environmental Sustainability on July 1, 2021, there will be new opportunities for Rotary Clubs to engage in a wide spectrum of projects to improve the health of the planet through all kinds of actions, big and small.
Nilam Bedi, Chair, and his entire District 7070 Environmental Action Committee invited us to an evening of insights into the single most environmental issue of our times – Climate Change. The centrepiece of the evening was the presentation by Dr. Elizabeth Bagley, Director of Drawdown Learn at Project Drawdown, which is one of world’s foremost resources for climate solutions. Dr. Elizabeth Bagley has vast experience in connecting people with the most impactful climate change solutions.
The authoritative overview of Climate Change and examples of actions at the local level from around the globe provided ideas for activities that may appeal to Rotary Clubs in District 7070. We also found out what environmental action clubs are already taking in our District.
