It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Joe Runza on 23rd of September 2024, a true champion for those facing cancer. Joe's dedication to supporting oncology patients at Michael Garron Hospital through the Skate-to-Ice-Cancer
Whether you're skating, or donating, your participation will help carry on Joe's vision of easing the burdens of those fighting cancer. Together, we can continue the work Joe so passionately started, and honor his memory by making a real difference in the lives of patients in need.
We hope to see you there to celebrate Joe's legacy and help raise funds for this vital cause.
Every contribution, big or small, will make a difference. Let’s come together as a community to celebrate Joe’s life and his commitment to making the world a better place.
We hope to see you there, sharing in the joy and compassion that Joe so generously gave to others.

Join us to make a difference!
On Thursday, December 19th, the Toronto East Rotary Club and our supporters will come together at East York Memorial Arena for the 7th Annual Skate-a-thon. It’s a day of fun, community, and caring.
This year’s Skate-a-thon is extra special because it honors Joe Runza, the event’s founder and a beloved Rotary member, who passed away this year. Joe started this event to help cancer patients during their hardest times, and his kindness inspires us to keep it going.
We’ll be skating 100 laps in one hour to raise money for cancer patient care. Your donation can make a big difference, helping to pay for essential items and support for patients at Michael Garron Hospital. Every dollar goes directly to those who need it most, giving them hope and relief.
Let’s skate, donate, and keep Joe’s legacy alive by helping those in need.
