FLASH FLOODS IN NEPAL: Your Impact in Action: Nepal
Thanks to the generous contributions from Canadians across the country, thousands of people in Nepal have received the aid they need to start their recovery journey. With winter quickly approaching, our teams are hard at work ensuring communities have insulated shelters and the items they need.
ShelterBox and one of our local partners, People in Need, were the first humanitarian organizations to get aid into Nepal. Your support has made it possible to be able to respond so quickly.
Our response in Nepal is divided into three phases. Phase one provided tarps, rope, sleeping mats, and pillows to 1000 displaced families in partnership with Islamic Relief Nepal. These distributions finished on September 18.
Phase two is underway providing tents, tarps, rope, solar lights, high thermal blankets, and winterization kits to remote villages and hard to reach areas.
Phase three will provide transitional shelter to help people with longer term recovery once rebuilding efforts can start.
With your support, we can reach the hardest hit communities and provide them with a warm place to live and the ability to recover. Thank you.
Partner Spotlight: PARC
In Gaza, ShelterBox works with our trusted local partner PARC (the Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committee) to deliver support to civilians in an incredibly complex humanitarian environment. Partnerships like these are essential to reaching communities quickly and effectively when access is limited.
On the ground, PARC brings deep local knowledge and strong community relationships, helping ensure that aid is tailored to people’s specific needs and delivered with dignity. Together, we are supporting families displaced by ongoing conflict by creating safer, more suitable shelter solutions – from reinforcing damaged structures to building new, private spaces for families who have been living in overcrowded conditions. PARC teams work directly with households to assess their needs and adapt assistance accordingly, including making shelters more accessible for people with disabilities.
This collaboration highlights the power of locally led response – where communities are not only supported, but actively involved in shaping their own recovery.
When disasters devastate the landscape and force people far from home, it can be hard to access safe, clean water. By providing water containers and water filters, safe drinking water becomes one less thing to worry about. Learn more about our AID Items
Venezuela Response Update
Here is a video update from our team in Venezuela. In addition to this shelter project, our teams also provided tents, mosquito nets and solar lights to help people be able to move out of crowded schools.

About ShelterBox Canada: Canada is a registered charity that has been a part of the global ShelterBox network since 2010. We have a team of over 120 volunteers across the country who share their passion with us and help us raise awareness and fundraise across the country. There are ten Canadian ShelterBox Response Team members who work tirelessly with the rest of the International Response Team to deliver aid to families who need it around the world. ShelterBox and Rotary are official project partners in international disaster relief. ShelterBox is a registered charity independent of Rotary International and the Rotary Foundation. Since 2012, we have been neighbours, friends and community leaders. Their aim is to create positive, lasting change in communities at home and all over the world.project partners with Rotary International, a global community of 1.2 million. Rotary has supported ShelterBox from the start when a local club championed the simple idea to package up essential shelter items in our now-iconic ShelterBoxes. As ShelterBox grew, so did Rotary support, and we are now international project partners in disaster relief. This partnership has helped us to become who we are today. Our global network of ShelterBox affiliates, which provides all-round assistance, evolved from Rotary relationships.
