ShelterBox Update OCTOBER 2021:

Our ShelterBox Canada Heroes

Each year, Rotary helps us to go further, support more people, and access areas that would otherwise be impossible to reach. Thanks to your support this past Rotary year we have been able to deliver aid to families recovering after disaster in India, Honduras, Philippines, Tanzania, Sudan, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Cameroon, and Ethiopia. The partnership between ShelterBox and Rotary is serving to change lives.

Natural disasters and conflict are inevitable and frequent, and the need for aid is continuous. ShelterBox Canada receives incredible financial and logistic support from Rotarians all over the world. The ShelterBox Canada Hero program recognizes the incredible support that Rotary Club’s provide in raising funds and awareness for disaster relief.

Each year, ShelterBox Canada recognizes Canadian Rotary Clubs for their dedication to being prepared for disaster with Bronze, Silver and Gold Hero Awards. During the 2020-21 Rotary year, 134 Rotary Club’s from coast-to-coast became ShelterBox Canada Hero’s. Thank you so much for your continued support to put the partnership into action to see a world where no family is left without shelter after disaster.

STOCK THE BOX PROGRAM: We can’t predict disasters, but with your support, we can be ready to respond providing displaced families with the life-saving aid they need right when they need it most. From August 1, 2021, through September 30, 2021, you can help ShelterBox Canada raise funds to restock our warehouses and prepare to respond to disasters around the world by participating in the annual Stock the Box fundraiser with your Rotary Club.

Rally your Rotary Club to participate in Stock the Box and prepare for the next disaster. It is easy to get started – create a fundraising page for your club, set your goal, start stocking your box.

“Stock The Box is a refreshing new fundraising program that was used in our Rotary Club to assist ShelterBox Canada.  It worked extremely well.  People like to know that their donation is going to something tangible and the campaign provided for that” -    Jeff Celentano, The Rotary Club of North Bay

You can pick the cost of an aid item as your goal or your Club can choose to fill an entire ShelterBox by setting your goal at $1,200. Every dollar you raise will still support families in desperate need of shelter and other essential aid after a disaster. Begin stocking your box, item by item, dollar by dollar until you reach your goal!

About ShelterBox Canada: Canada is a registered charity that has been a part of the global ShelterBox network since 2010. We have a team of over 120 volunteers across the country who share their passion with us and help us raise awareness and fundraise across the country. There are ten Canadian ShelterBox Response Team members who work tirelessly with the rest of the International Response Team to deliver aid to families who need it around the world. To learn more about our board and staff click here .

ShelterBox and Rotary are official project partners in international disaster relief. ShelterBox is a registered charity independent of Rotary International and the Rotary Foundation.  Since  2012, we have been neighbours, friends and community leaders. Their aim is to create positive, lasting change in communities at home and all over the world.project partners with Rotary International, a global community of 1.2 million. Rotary has supported ShelterBox from the start when a local club championed the simple idea to package up essential shelter items in our now-iconic ShelterBoxes. As ShelterBox grew, so did Rotary support, and we are now international project partners in disaster relief. This partnership has helped us to become who we are today. Our global network of ShelterBox affiliates, which provides all-round assistance, evolved from Rotary relationships.
