ShelterBox Update JANUARY 2022:
Rotarian Realtors Can Support Families Impacted by Disaster with Every Home Sale
Do you know a realtor who shares the same values of peace, service, and friendship that you do? ShelterBox Canada has an opportunity for them to get involved in Rotary International’s commitment to disaster relief with our Buy a Home, Give a Home program. Realtors across the country are joining together to help families affected by disaster by donating the cost of a family relief tent with each home they sell.
Stephanie Winger, Rotarian and Buy a Home, Give a Home member, has received great responses from her clients. “They are glad that, through me, they are able to be a part of giving a home to a family. It was really a way for me to combine my passion for ShelterBox with my clients’ desire to also give back”, expressed Winger. Her motivation for joining was to give back in a tangible way while setting herself apart from other realtors in the area. BDC has reported that social corporate responsibility is important to homebuyers and can solidify customer loyalty.
Amazing Rotarians and realtors like Mike Coffin, Stacey Jones, and Per Dahlstrom are helping Canadians find a new home, but they are also providing emergency shelter and tools for displaced families around the world. In recognition of realtors’ commitment to Buy a Home, Give a Home, ShelterBox provides access to logos, banners, customizable information cards and more to promote their involvement with their clients and community.
This program is a great way to build Rotary memberships and get your local realtors spreading awareness about our neighbors abroad who have lost their homes to flooding, hurricanes, and other life-altering catastrophes. For more information on the program check out https://www.shelterboxcanada.org/giveahome/ and connect with Meg at megschmieder@shelterboxcanada.org to get your local Rotarian and/or non-Rotarian realtors involved!

ShelterBox and Rotary are official project partners in international disaster relief. ShelterBox is a registered charity independent of Rotary International and the Rotary Foundation. Since 2012, we have been neighbours, friends and community leaders. Their aim is to create positive, lasting change in communities at home and all over the world.project partners with Rotary International, a global community of 1.2 million. Rotary has supported ShelterBox from the start when a local club championed the simple idea to package up essential shelter items in our now-iconic ShelterBoxes. As ShelterBox grew, so did Rotary support, and we are now international project partners in disaster relief. This partnership has helped us to become who we are today. Our global network of ShelterBox affiliates, which provides all-round assistance, evolved from Rotary relationships.
