The Epic Day of Service 2026 is a global volunteer event that took place on 16 May 2026, uniting Rotarians and communities to create meaningful change through service. The Rotary Clubs of District 7070 carried out Epic Days of Service throughout the month of May.
MISSION: To inspire and create a worldwide EPIC Day of Service, uniting Rotary clubs and community members in collective action to make a tangible difference in communities around the globe. Through this initiative, we aim to provide an accessible platform that empowers clubs to promote their projects, elevate Rotary's visibility, and amplify the incredible work being done in communities everywhere.
HISTORY: The EPIC Day is a grassroots event founded in 2022 by two Rotary District Governors -- Jeff Krause and Joanne Alfieri -- in Connecticut and Massachusetts. They were responding to Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta's call for all clubs to do a Rotary Day of Service. Under the coordination of Robert Friend, a broad team of Rotary leaders has grown the EPIC Day exponentially. In 2024, Districts in Colorado and Wyoming joined the team, bringing a new global website to help support public involvement and add fundraising.
OUR IMPACT: Currently in 7 Countries: United States, Canada, Brazil, Australia, England, The Netherlands, and Bermuda… 21 Districts with over 1200 clubs; … 10 States: Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont, Colorado, Wyoming, Michigan….. 1264 Projects…. Over 36,000 Rotarians and Community Members. Last year the fundraising component was implemented in the Colorado district and successfully raised over $150,000.

Rotary Epic Day of Service & Community BBQ! where we had a fun Saturday and met the people behind the projects that make Durham Region thrive! The Durham Region Rotary Clubs are joining forces for an Epic Day of Service, and the public were part of the celebration. they explored Rotary Village and saw photos and stories of local and international work—from community gardens to global health initiatives. They met Rotarians and chatted with members from across the region and see how we’re making an impact right here in Durham Region. There was a FREE Community BBQ as they enjoyed a free hot dog lunch sponsored by Rotary. in Whitby. No cost, just community!
Ajax Rotary always has things on the go ! We participated in the Epic Day of Service ! Here we are with our illustrious President Jim building and planting sustainable raised garden beds for the benefit of our community! Way to go to all involved like We Grow Food
Rotary Club of Colborne:
The Rotary Club of Willowdale marked its EPIC Day of Service yesterday with a community cleanup at Bayview Village Park. Our Club members came together to collect litter and help restore the park’s natural beauty, demonstrating a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and local pride.
Rotary Club of Toronto Tibetan organized neighborhoods cleaning from Dufferin Street to Roncesville street in the Parkdale community neighbourhood in spirit of service for others inspired by Rotary epic day of services which is honoured and put to action the spirit of contributing to the community in what ever form service for good of others and community. This year epic day of service theme of cleaning queen street in Toronto, Canada is indeed a success with participation of volunteers from all walks of professional background and age group.. Special thanks for all the sponsors and volunteers who make the project a success and will expect more volunteers in the future
The Rotary Club of Etobicoke celebrated Rotary's EPIC Day of Service with 2 new Hands On projects.
Here is Lynda Ryder's Story: I was contacted by Chef Keith Hoare, former and still active supporting chef at Thistletown C.I. With the agreement of incoming Thistletown Chef Tawfik Shehata, Keith suggested that Thistletown culinary students along with him and Tawfik would like to do a sandwich project with our club. Thistletown has a donation of frozen meat. Ham, Chicken and Baloney. Keith and his culinary students would join with us in making 300 sandwiches. We have agreed on Rotary Etobicoke's Hands On providing 35 loaves of bread and sandwiches bags. I can get the bread and sandwich bags. Thistletown would provide the meat, mayo and mustard. The project took place on May 12. I am hoping to provide the 300 sandwiches to Na Me RES - an Indigenous Men's Shelter in Toronto. Samantha will take the sandwiches and deliver them to Na Me Res on May 12. The other - Epic Day of Service will be sorting clothing and making food for the Scott Mission in Rexdale. The Rotary Club prepared the meals that were transferred downtown. That is two "new" Hand's On projects which we are labelled as Rotary Epic Days of Service in the same week.
