In early March 2020,we will have, on-line, on our District website under the Rotary Foundation, everything you need to start your club's qualification for applying for District and Global Grants for the 2020-21 Rotary year.  Presidents Elect will have attended the Presidents Elect Training Seminar to prepare for their year as leaders of their Clubs.  Part of the preparations for next year is also for the Club to qualify and take part in the Rotary Foundation’s Grant program and be allowed to apply for District and Global Grants. The Rotary Foundation requires Clubs that want to apply for Grants, to be qualified.  The qualification must be renewed every year.  At least two Club members from your Club have to take the training, organized by the District and your Club must submit to the District a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed by your President and President Elect......

For the second year, D7070 is offering an on-line qualification training.  Three modules (The Rotary Foundation, Global Grants and District Grants) will be posted on the District’s website, www.rotary7070.org   Rotarians have to successfully answer three questionnaires (one for each module) to pass.  The modules, questionnaires and MOU-form for the 2020-21 Rotary year will be posted at the end of February 2020.  Once the new material is up on the website, the documents for the current Rotary year will be taken down.

Once two members of a Club have successfully completed the questionnaires and the Club has submitted the MOU, the Club is qualified.  Please, note that the whole Club that becomes qualified, not just the two members that take the questionnaires.  Therefore, Clubs may ask different members to take the training this time instead of the members from last time.  In addition, nothing prevents more than two Club members take the training.  We all benefit from a greater share of members becoming better informed of the Rotary Foundation and how it can help us building a better world.

A final note.  Applications for Global Grants are made on-line at www.rotary.org throughout the Rotary year.  Applications for District Grants are made to the District on a special form, that is found at www.rotary7070.org   Dead-line for District Grant applications for the 2020-21 Rotary year is May 31, 2020.  Only qualified Clubs can apply.
