Here is a call to action to Rotary Club Presidents from John Blount inviting Rotaractors from across the globe to participate in a Rotaract Preconvention, which takes place two days before the Rotary International Convention in Hamburg, Germany....
Greetings fellow Rotarians,
As you know, your President, Barry Rassin has set an ambitious goal of doubling the number of Rotaractors and Rotaract clubs worldwide. As President Barry stated at the Rotary Convention in Toronto, "we need younger members, we need younger leaders, if we want Rotary to stay strong". In order to make his vision a reality, we need your help.
This June 2019, Rotaractors from across the globe will participate in a Rotaract Preconvention, which takes place two days before the Rotary International Convention in Hamburg, Germany.
Through workshops, networking events and general sessions, participants will find new friends, view best-practice examples from other clubs, learn about growth opportunities within the family of Rotary and be inspired to bring new ideas back to their home clubs.
The Preconvention also contains a specific training for District Rotaract Representatives (DRR), where they learn skills to assist them in their year as DRR. Therefore, we are encouraging you and all your District Governor peers to send your DRR-elect and other active Rotaractors to the Rotaract Preconvention as well as the RI Convention in Hamburg next year.
To encourage networking opportunities amongst the attending Rotaractors, the Rotaract Preconvention team in Hamburg has put together Preconvention evening events ("host-ticketed events"), where Rotaractors can connect with each other as well as experience Hamburg's nightlife.
The team in Hamburg has also put together event packages that include accommodation options. The accommodation packages will be sold on a "first come, first serve" basis and will only be available to book until 25 October 2018.
