The members of the District Membership Committee were challenged to pick up a Membership tip while they were at the 2018 International Convention. Over the next few months, we will share these, starting with…..

From District Governor Mary Lou

Membership experience at club meetings is changing: A member of a Rotaract panel mentioned that "speakers" are no longer as important a source of information, ideas & inspiration as they once were because there are many more sources of news and ideas, e.g. Ted Talks, YouTube videos etc.  This means that the traditional meeting with a speaker may not be the draw it once was.

From Past District Governor Michael Bell:

When asked about Rotary, focus on how we get involved, the good things we do through Rotary and the great things we do in the community, not how long Rotary has been in existence or on how many clubs or members there are in the world. Awaken a longing for creating a better world.

From Past District Governor and Rotary Coordinator Bob Wallace

WIIFM: If someone is interested in finding out more about Rotary and if it is for them, involve them in the conversation – find out what interests them, what they are looking for – then you can touch on the aspects of Rotary that will engage them (i.e., what’s in it for them).

Watch for more next month.

For WINNING NEW MEMBERS ideas – be sure and read the August Rotarian – p27-33 & p53-55
