Rotary is launching an improved system for managing membership leads early in the new calendar year! We’re excited about this process that will make it easier and faster for clubs to connect with prospective members. Under the new system, people who want to join a Rotary or Rotaract club review their options and submit their interest to a club they choose. Club presidents, membership chairs, secretaries, and executive secretaries then get an email that includes a link to the person’s profile in Salesforce. Club leaders can track follow-up actions in the system and keep notes about the membership lead.....
We know that following up with prospective members can be a big job, so you’ll receive reminder emails if you don’t record any action. You can also easily escalate leads to your district if a prospective member isn’t the right fit for your club.
We’ll share more details in the coming weeks about the new system that will help your club connect with the more than 30,000 people who indicate their interest each year at rotary.org/join.
What can you do right now?
- Be sure that all your club officers have a My Rotary account. As with the current process, access to membership leads starts by signing in to My Rotary.
- Ensure that information about your club is correct in My Rotary as well as on your club’s website and social media. This includes your meeting details and location. Providing accurate information will make your club more visible to prospective members.
- Think about how your club can be even more welcoming and open to prospective members. Having a plan for how you’ll respond to membership leads and implementing it can help prospective members have a good experience with Rotary.
Soon, you will receive additional information about the launch of the membership leads management system including instructions to opt-out of receiving leads if your club does not wish to participate.
Thank you for your continued collaboration in growing Rotary!
Sincerely,
Brian King
