ROTARY CLUB OF OSHAWA-PARKWOOD:

MANJIT SEHDEV

Passed away on January 17, 2020 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 78. Beloved husband of the late Henny. Loving father of Sharon, Alex, and Michael. Cherished Opa and Nanaji of Leo, Keira, Claire, and Ivy. Manjit will be remembered by his sister Surinder (Parminder), sister-in-law Parkash, cousins, and his numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, the US and India. Manny arrived in Canada at the age of 22 and completed his Master's in Engineering at the Technical University of Nova Scotia. He then moved to Oshawa, Ontario where he worked for General Motors and Rowntree as an electrical engineer. After meeting his wife to be Henny Nekkers, and having their firstborn daughter he moved the family to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to be closer to the Sehdevas. The family grew to include two sons; Alex and Michael. After a decade, they decided to leave the US, Henny and Manny returned to the place they started, to be closer to the Nekkers' family. Manny continued in real estate and property management full time by purchasing a large apartment building in Whitby Ontario on Garden Street. Many happy and prosperous years went by where Manny was sought out by his community. Many newcomers to Canada benefitted from his knowledge of the systems to establish and succeed in both Canada and the US. He also worked in the greater Oshawa community as President of the Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood. Manjit means "winner of hearts," and true to his name he has too many to count who are forever grateful, admire and adore his generous soul.
