HIP is searching for 50 youth ages 15 to 17 from across Canada to participate in this innovative program & National dialogue aimed at peacebuilding & creating sustainable environmental change.

HIP is launching the National Youth Truth & Reconciliation Experience, a unique Youth-to-Youth (Y2Y) learning opportunity for Indigenous and Non-Indigenous students in grades 9 to 11. This innovative initiative raises cultural awareness, promotes mutual understanding among youth across Canada on the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action and treaty relations plus ignites the need to create sustainable environmental transformation. We ask for your vital support.....

50 youth (25 Indigenous & 25 Non-Indigenous) from across Canada will meet with Indigenous leaders from March 27 to 31, 2023; spending 4-days participating in a Ceremonial Gathering at Turtle Lodge near Winnipeg.

 The intent of the Gathering is for First Nations Youth, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers to share land-based knowledge, what healing means to us, and the meaning and practice of leadership.

This event is uniquely developed, based on traditional teachings from the host territory, to;

• Build friendships with like-minded Indigenous and Non-Indigenous youth from across Canada

• Receive rare teachings from leading elders and knowledge keepers about Indigenous heritage, culture, and treaty relationships.

• Develop a hands-on understanding of nature and what it means to be a good steward of the land.

Day 5, features a private tour of the Canadian Museum of Human Rights, the world’s first museum dedicated to human rights, and engage in dialogue about the truths of Residential Schools from The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.

Please support the program through donations and helping us encourage students to apply to the program.

Applications will be open until January 25, 2023:   https://honouringindigenouspeoples.com/youth-to-youth-engagement/
