Health experts convened in Doha for Pakistan/Afghanistan TAG: National, regional and global health experts convened in Doha last week at the Pakistan and Afghanistan Technical Advisory Group meeting (TAG). The group reviewed the current wild poliovirus type 1 (WPV1) in both countries, the impact of operations and programmatic challenges that must be overcome, to urgently interrupt all remaining chains of WPV1 transmission. The meeting came at a critical time, with both countries continue to intensify the eradication efforts, and the group’s outcomes are also being presented to global health leaders at this week’s World Health Assembly in Geneva.
