As we wind down to the end of the 2024-2025 Rotary Year, Rotary Clubs around the world are celebrating their year, their President and their successes! District 7070 is no exception. Check out some of the great events with details available in this Newsletter or on our D7070 media.
On May 22nd I had the pleasure of attending a Scholarship Awards event held by 5 Rotary Clubs in the Scarborough area. Students from local high schools apply for the scholarships, applications are adjudicated by Club Rotarians and the students and parents are invited to the award ceremony. This year 5 scholarships each valued at $5,000 were awarded to some amazing young people - The Magic of Rotary!
A very informative Learning Tuesday on May 20th lead by PDG Bob Wallace. PDG Bob took us through how to record Club accomplishments on My Rotary … all towards meeting the Club Excellence Award. Lots of questions from attendees. I recommend Members review the recording posted on D7070 website.
D7070 celebrations! On June 18th we will have our D7070 Changeover Event at the Whitby Legion Hall. I will have the pleasure of congratulating District Awardees (is your Club one of the awardees?). I will welcome our District Governor for 2025-2026, Niecy Dillon-Tyrovolas from the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise and say goodbye as your current District Governor!!!
