In his March 2024 Newsletter, District 7070 Governor John Burns, Agent 7070, reminds us about the importance of clean water highlighting March as Water Sanitation & Hygiene Month and encourages everyone to focus on Water. He also thanks Joan Barrett for and outstanding membership learning Tuesdays and Nevine Yass for an outstanding Peace Forum. John also wants to remind us to get ready for the Great Lakes Watershed Cleanup on April 27 and encourages us to come to the Rotary Club of Bowmanville's 100th anniversary on April 27. ............
Dear fellow Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors and Earlyactors, !!.
March is Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Month and it reminds us all that clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education are basic necessities for a healthy environment and a productive life.
Here in District 7070, we are extremely fortunate in regards to these subjects and it is easy to become complacent about them.
We must however keep in mind that there are millions of people around the world who are not so fortunate and are in dire need of help.
Many Clubs in our district, take part in or donate to projects in this field, where we certainly create hope for a better future for those in need.
The works carried out by Rotarians such as Steve Rutledge in Laos and many more are prime examples of what can be achieved.
If you or your club are not currently participating or donating to any of these projects, I strongly urge you to do so.
You know it’s the right thing to do and the rewards are knowing that you have helped a little more hope and a better future for those in need.
Thanks
My thanks go out to Joan Barrett for organizing the Learning Tuesday with Stephanie Urchick
Thanks to Nevine Yassa for organizing the Peace Forum.
International Women's Day
I encourage everyone to register for in person or online for International Women's Day March 8 at the Rotary Global Classroom.
