Demining During COVID-19

The global pandemic has changed life in many ways. For Team 5 deminers in Cambodia, it has brought even more time away from their families. As teams prepared to come out of the field for Khmer New Year, the Cambodian government ordered Khmer New Year celebrations canceled and told everyone to stay in town, at work. Celebrations would be held at a later date after the virus is contained or destroyed. People were allowed to celebrate the holiday in family groups, but not in village parties, as is the norm. EOD Team 5 celebrated with each other in the field, and were quickly back to work, albeit with some extra PPE! Scroll down for a video of what Team 5 accomplished in 2019, or CLICK HERE to give today!  ...

Herb Epp Bursary

The Foundation is thrilled to announce that Muserref Kuzucuoglu has been awarded the Herb Epp Memorial Scholarship for 2020. Muserref is enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy, Religious Studies program at Wilfrid Laurier University. Recipients must be full-time or part-time Laurier graduate students in the Faculty of Arts or the Balsillie School of International Affairs who demonstrate an interest in international relations through their academic programs or volunteer commitments. The scholarship was established in memory of Herb Epp (1934-2013) by the Canadian Landmine Foundation through donations from family and friends, and through a generous pledge of support from Dr. Alistair Edgar, an Associate Professor in Political Science at Wilfrid Laurier, and the current chair of the Foundation’s board.

Congratulations Muserref!
