On May 10, 2019, Rotary lost a charismatic, dynamic leader with the passing of Past District Governor Bill Patchett. On January 19, 2020, Rotarians and guests from all over District 7070 gathered in Cobourg to celebrate Bill and his tremendous work for Rotary District 7070, and his many achievements. We will always remember Bill for his passion and for his legendary, tenacious work for End Polio Now and The Rotary Foundation fundraising efforts. Lots of photos in the Photo Albums Menu Tab on our District Website rotary7070.org  ..........

Connor Visser, President of the Rotary Club of Courtice was the Master of Ceremonies at the Best Western Hotel in Cobourg, on Sunday, January 19, 2020 when Rotarians from all over District 7070, paid tribute to Past District Governor Bill Patchett.

The President of the Rotary Club of Cobourg, Don Owen led everyone in singing Happy birthday to our dear departed Bill.

District 7070 Governor Beth Selby passed on stories that she had received from Past District Governors about Bill's many fundraising schemes, all in the name of The Rotary Foundation.

Connor Visser, Past RI Vice President and former Chair of the Trustees of The Rotary Foundation, our very own Dr Bob Scott ,  Cobourg Rotarian and Arch Klumpf Society member Michael Parker, and Delphine Patchett all talked about Bill and his passion for The Rotary Foundation.

Bill turned jars of jam and stones from Lake Huron into donations to The Rotary Foundation. This was so successful that Connor Visser was able to get $100 for jars of jam and an autographed lake stone at Bill's Birthday Bash.

Past District Governor Ted Morrison told the Rotarians that Bill raised the consciousness of Rotarians about The Rotary Foundation. As they learned  who learned more and more about its importance from Bill and through Bill's encouragement, their donations followed.

Congratulations to Michael and Karen Parker for their final installment to their Arch Klumpf Society award.

Thank you to Connor Visser for a job well done.

Thank you to Delphine Patchett.

Thank you to all Rotarians in District 7070 who came out to honour Bill.
