Posted by Mark Chipman, District 7070 Governor 2020-21

Our new District Governor Mark Chipman ended the Ceremonies by thanking Beth for her outstanding Rotary year. .....

Highlights of District Governor Mark's remarks:

In honour of Douglas the Flamingo and Beth's Hawaiian year, Mark wore a pink flamingo shirt. On behalf of all District Rotarians, Marked thanked Mary Lou for her efforts this year as our District Governor and Past District Governor.

Mark thanked Bruce Stewart of the Toronto Sunrise Rotary Club for his technical expertise for our Zoom party.

He then thanked Past District Governor Beth for her strong leadership during these trying times, with grace, focus, and composure.

On behalf of the District Leadership Team, and the entire District, Mark presented Beth and Barry with one week (accommodation only) at Maison de La Fontaine in southwest France (with special arrangements made by Past District Governor Neil Phillips and Mardi Michels).

Mark is excited about the elevation of Rotaract and its elevated status on July 1, 2020. He is "pumped" to be able to work with 6 new Assistant Governors, and our new Rotary International Director, our very own Valarie Wafer, and he is looking forward to working with all of the new club presidents. He paid respect to club member Tom Fitzsimmons who passed away earlier this week.
