Be The Inspiration in our New Rotary Year!

What an incredible time it is to be a Rotarian in Rotary District 7070. We have just hosted the world in Toronto for the very inspiring 2018 Rotary International Convention, and what a party that was! Huge thanks to everyone who attended and volunteered, with special thanks to the members of the Host Organizing Committee led by Rotarian rock stars Michele Guy of the Rotary Club of Toronto and PDG Michael Cooksey of the Rotary Club of Scarborough.  And there's more excitement around the corner as we launch our new Rotary year...

and get ready to Be The Inspiration in our clubs, our communities, and around the world. This is our fabulous theme for the 2018-19 Rotary Year under the leadership of RI President Barry Rassin of the Rotary Club of East Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas

I know that I have found incredible inspiration in the leadership of outgoing District Governor Neil Philips in the 2018-18 Rotary Year. Neil - thank you for your Service Above Self, for your leadership, teamwork, amazing sense of fun, and friendship. Your continued leadership is not only encouraged, it is expected!

As we embark on the year ahead, I would like to welcome Beth Selby of the Rotary Club of Cobourg as our District Governor Elect (DGE) and Mark Chipman of the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise as our District Governor Nominee (DGND). Thank you in advance for your inspirational leadership!

The success of a Rotary District in providing Service Above Self depends on the contribution of each and every member of the Rotary family - members of Early Act, Interact, Rotaract, and Rotary Clubs, our families and friends, Youth Exchange Students and RYLA participants, Assistant Governors, Club Presidents & their boards, members of the District Advisory Council, and more.  We need you all to Be The Inspiration in 2018-19!

I am looking forward to travelling throughout our District in the months to come and to doing what I can to support and further our efforts as one of the world's most well-respected service organizations, and making a real difference in the lives of so many. In addition to my clubs visits (currently being scheduled), I can't wait to see you at this year's Rotary Foundation Walk on Sunday, September 30 in Kleinberg and at the 2018 Rotary 7070 District Conference, Rotary Reunion, on Saturday, October 27 in Wellington, Prince Edward County

Together, we will Be The Inspiration in our 2018-19 Rotary Year!

Yours in Rotary,

Mary Lou
