DISC yet another acronym used by Rotary but, what is a DISC.  The formal title is District International Service Chair and I am privileged to be the DISC for our District 7070.  Now that you have an idea what a DISC is, what exactly is the Role of the DISC and what service does that Role provide to the District and more importantly the clubs.

Please Read more to find our more about DISC.....

In our District, I chair the Action and Partnerships Committee, in most Districts this committee is referred to as the International Service Committee.  This committee is comprised of committees covering each Area of Focus plus HIP (Honouring Indigenous Peoples).   The objective for our group is to be a resource to clubs and Rotarians who may be developing or actively working on projects or grants and want additional information or assistance pertaining to developing or assessing a project or Grant application.

At the recent Rotary ZONE 28 and 32 summit, in Winnipeg in September 2025, we learned that the best way to describe the role of a DISC is to be a connector.  To that end, please know that our committee is there and each of us are available to help connect you to resources you may require as you navigate development of a Grant or a Project.  That could be to review an application you’re developing or helping you evaluate a project proposal you may have received from an outside source.  If necessary, we may have an outside connection who can help you if you have a specific issue or technical question but, we will discuss that in more detail next month.

The Chars of each of the Area of Focus Committees or HIP are accessible on the District Website with contact information.  If you are interested in joining one of the Area of Focus Committees, please reach out to myself and we can have a chat and connect you with the appropriate Chair, we would love to have you on board.
