Microfinance 101 - The Basics

Come and learn about the world of Microfinance; its origins and how Microfinance helps people move OUT of poverty. 

You will hear inspiring client stories; examples of large organizations working with children, families and communities and how this transitions lives.

How can Rotarians become involved?  Come to this stimulating session and find out more.

Jim Louttit, Past President of Toronto Sunrise, District 7070 Microfinance Committee Chair and President Elect of Rotarian Action Group for Microfinance and Community Development (RAGM), will be the moderator and primary presenter.  Other speakers include Amparo Buendia Hernandez, President of the Bogota Centenario Rotary Club in District 4290 and also their District's Grants Sub-Committee Chair; Kim Lorenz, Director of Philanthropy with World Vision U.S. and also a member of the Rotary Club of Bellevue, Washington in District 5030; and Candace Embling, Manager of the Economic and Community Development Area of Focus, from RI in Evanston. 

This breakout session will be held on Tuesday, June 25 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL) in Auditorium 1.
